On Wednesday, August 1st, Ramsay Slugg, National Practice Director of Bank of America’s Philanthropic Management group, will present highlights from the Bank’s recent report on high net-worth philanthropy conducted by the Center on Philanthropy at Indiana University.  The Bank of America High Net-Worth Philanthropy Study surveyed the giving patterns of nearly 1,000 individuals with household income greater than $200,000 and/or net worth of $1 million.  The study examines this group’s giving behaviors and motivations and, more significantly, what would cause this most generous group of donors to give even more!

As National Practice Director of Bank of America’s Philanthropic Management group, Ramsay Slugg is involved in both client and internal strategic planning, and product development for the Bank’s charitable practice.  Previously, he served as the Central Region Director of the Bank’s Charitable Management Services Group, overseeing all charitable trust and investment management services for 32 Private Bank offices in the Central Region.  Mr. Slugg is also an adjunct professor at Texas Christian University, teaching courses in Introductory and Advanced Federal Income Taxation, and Advanced Business Law.

In addition to his work at the Bank, Mr. Slugg is active in community affairs.  He currently serves on the Boards of All Saints Episcopal School, the Fort Worth Symphony Association, the Longhorn Council – Boy Scouts of America, the All Saints’ Episcopal Church Endowment Board, and the Planned Giving Council for JPS Partners For Health.

Why I love non-profit work – Non-profit work is amazing because it gives me the opportunity to make a difference in the lives of others on a daily basis.  I am also able to give a significant amount of my time to an outstanding mission.  There is no better feeling than knowing a simple act of kindness can change generations to come!

Favorite quote – You must be the change that you expect to see in the world.

Hobbies – I enjoy learning, jazz, community service, and modeling.
